The academic aspect of the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is the responsibility of the Scientific Council of the Weizmann Institute of Science, whereas its administrative facet is the responsibility of the Feinberg Graduate School.
Areas of Specialization
Fellowship positions are offered every year for postdoctoral research in the research areas pursued at the Weizmann Institute. These include the Life Sciences, Science Teaching, and Interdisciplinary Projects.
Minimum Requirements for Admission to the Program
• The applicant must possess a degree of Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Medicine from an accredited institution of higher learning (Israeli or international),
• No more than four years have elapsed since receiving confirmation of the doctorate and the designated date for the start of the Fellowship Program.
Duration of the Fellowship Period
The length of the fellowship period is one or two years. Under certain circumstances, and with approval by the Head of the Fellowship Program, the period may be extended to a third and final year. In any event, the fellowship period may not be extended beyond five years from the date of approval for the Ph.D. degree or the M.D. degree (or the completion of the specialized medical residency).
Koshland Stipends
Koshland stipends are awarded to exceptionally outstanding postdoctoral Fellows and grant the following additional benefits:
A one-time grant of US$5,000 at the end of their first year.
An increased annual travel allowance ($4,053 instead of $1,553).

Applications for Koshland stipends are submitted by the Institute and not by the candidates.
Deadlines: The selection process for these fellowships is held twice a year: In January (the deadline for submission of applications is January 5th), and in May (deadline is May 15th).
